Get High By The Beach

Hello Everyone!

All I wanna do is get high by the beach, get high by the beach, get high.

No, I am not actually talking about wanting to get high by the beach. That’s just the song that’s been stuck in my head for the past few days non-stop. Lana Del Rey’s song to be exact. High by the Beach. Came out last year. Still manages to get stuck in my head. Yeah that one. Nothing is more distracting than a song stubbornly refusing to leave your head for moments of silence. My favorite(sarcasm) is when your trying to go to sleep, and the song runs through your head until three in the morning.

Song’s on Replay009

One of the things that happens to me often is getting songs stuck in my head for days at a time. They could be brand new songs, or songs from 10 years ago. But, they’ll still get stuck in my head one way or the other. Recently it’s been Lana Del Rey’s song “High by the Beach”, and before that it was Ariana Grande’s song “Into You”. I’ve found that I am not that great at shutting off my mind. I really already knew that because of my writer side. I’m constantly thinking of stories, and new story ideas. There really is no off button.

Why am I even writing about this?

Because I know there is no real solution. Sure, I may get rid of a song, but only to be replaced by another one. I wanted to know what you all think about songs getting stuck in your head. Anything you do to get rid of them?  Let me know in the comments below. So naturally, my question of the day is:

How do you get rid of songs stuck in your head?

I’m Addicted to TV

Hello Everyone!

Like many college students these days, I am addicted to my fair share of TV shows. I like to tell myself that it is not that bad. That I am not watching as much TV as I think. However, I can get away with that because I usually save up my TV watching for weekends. Weekdays are usually busy for me, so I push my TV time off until Saturday or Sunday.

My Current TV Shows007

For the past month or so it has been kind of like a slump in my TV watching. Mainly because a majority of my tv shows are not on right now. Only a few have kept me entertained. Some being the new Ed Bassmaster TV show and Young & Hungry.

These times usually leave me relying on Netflix for my entertainment. Re-watching TV shows for the billionth time or finding new ones to binge-watch. Which kinda of shows of the TV show addict in me. I can’t watch on TV so I result to binge-watching on Netflix until three a.m.

Shows I’m Looking Forward To Returning To TV

While I have been dealing with the shortage of TV shows for the past month, it is all about to get better. This week Orange Is The New Black returns. Next week Pretty Little Liars and The Fosters returns to TV, and I am super pumped about getting some more shows to watch. There still is unfortunately a downside for me. I have plenty of more tv shows I like to watch, and none of which are set to return during the Summer. That’s a couple more months without much of anything to watch. Of course that gives me more room to binge-watch new tv shows, but that’s only feeding my addiction… I think I need help.

~~~~~
My TV show addiction only gets worse as time goes by. More and more TV shows get added to my list. I have a problem. My question of the day for you all:
What are your favorite TV Shows?
Scribble Saturday: The Benefit of Taking A Break
Happy Saturday Everyone!
I was thinking about what topic to scribble about today, and finally chose to talk about the benefit of taking a break. In your busy work day that is.
Yesterday was my day off from work. So naturally I should already be taking a break right? No. Not even in the slightest. I have plenty of stuff I need to be squeezing into my off days now that my job takes up a majority of my time. So yesterday was supposed to be a day full of me catching up on my writing, and drafting some blog posts for the next week. My mother and I ended up decided to go eat lunch with my dad, and that’s what started it all.
My Friday Activities006
Before I knew it I was spending money on makeup in Ulta and Bath & Body Works like it was nothing. But, I enjoyed it all. I had the money saved up for a special spending day, and was more than ready to spend it on some much needed bath and beauty products.
Long story short, four hours went by, and I finally returned home. I turned on my computer to see my open document with my writing unfinished, as well as some unfinished blog posts. The stuff I planned to spend my entire day on just staring at me.
It’s Okay To Relax
I only had a few hours left in my day before I would need to go to bed, as I had to work the next day. So after sitting on it for a while, I decided that it’d still be there the next time I have free time. It’s not going to hurt to take a break and relax for the first time. It was okay for me to go shopping instead of work, because that’s just the right amount of relaxation I needed.
Now I am not saying to straight up ignore things that have deadlines, but sometimes it is okay to take a day off from stress and work to take time for yourself. Sometimes that is all you need to power through the next few work days. Focus on yourself for once.
~~~~~

Your relaxation is definitely the most important benefit to taking a break from all that work. My question of the day for you all:

What helps you relax on your days off?

Taking A Page: First Day at Work

Hello Everyone!

Taking A Page(TAP) is a series I am doing of posting my actual journal entries on my blog for you all to read. So here we go!

How My Day Started Off005

I finally got to start my new job. After the long three week process since my interview I was ready to get to work. My day started off with me having to arrive early and purchase my uniform. Which the theme park I work at has a specific uniform that most all park employees have to wear. Let’s just say that I am in khaki shorts that are a size too big for me, and a shirt that is a size to big for me. No one told me that the sizes run a whole size up than what they say. But, unless I want to pay another 30 bucks, I am just going to have to deal with it.

After purchasing my uniform I was sent off to my location in the theme park. I work in food service, and I got to spend my day around food. Which was not that bad at first, but towards the end of the day it was hard to enjoy it. Long story short, I do not think I will be wanting Nachos for a while.

Doing the Same Repetitive Thing

I am sure a lot of people probably know what Subway is. The build your own kind of sandwiches concept. I work in something similar to that. I just serve nachos and burritos all day. To be honest it was not that bad until after I got back lunch and realized I had to do the same repetitive thing for another five hours. Maybe it was just because it was my first day, but so far I am not feeling this job.

Since I started this job on a Sunday, I will not have to work again until next Friday, but it feels like that Friday is already too close for comfort. Maybe it will get better as time goes on, but at this point I feel like I am in for a long Summer.

All I know is that now I am going to go soak in a long bubble bath, and hope my feet stop aching by the time I wake up tomorrow.

~~~~~
The second entry in my TAP series is done. I am really liking the idea of this series. My question of the day for you all:
What was your first day like at your most recent/current job?
The Early Morning Kind of Morning
Hello Everyone!
I woke up unnecessarily early this morning, and thought to write up a quick blog post. Most of the time, I wake up fairly early everyday. As a teenager I never really was that teen who slept until noon or later. Which I am not all that upset about now that I really think about it. The morning time is the best time to get some thinking done. No one in the house is usually up yet(and if they are, they are probably getting ready for work and will not bother you). You have also just started your day, and you probably have not had any struggles yet.
This morning I woke up at six a.m., then I went back to sleep. Only to wake up again at seven a.m.. This time for good. After getting my usual cup of coffee, I let my cat upstairs, and settled down with my laptop. Today is a good work day for me, as I do not have to go to work until noon. But, I have to work until eight, and it would have been nice to get a little bit more sleep. I also have to work Saturday and Sunday from ten a.m. to eight p.m. Which means most of my weekend will be me at work, and less of it will be me getting to sleep and relax.
To me, I feel like even though I woke up unnecessarily early this morning, it is good for me. It gives me time to sit back and relax before starting the cycle of work for the weekend. Although my good mood probably has a lot to do with the coffee I had this morning. Maybe I will move on to my second cup, and catch up on some YouTube videos before I go to work. Who knows? I have got all this time after all.
……
Early mornings are not as bad as some people make them out to be. Think of the positives. You get free time to yourself in the morning. It can be really peaceful and relaxing if you let it. My question of the day for you all:
What do you like to do when you wake up early in the morning?
