Blogmas Is Coming To An End//Christmas Eve (Blogmas Day 24)

Hi friends!69

So this is the final post of blogmas, and I have to say that it was an interesting experience. I’ve tried and failed miserably at blogmas on several other of my old blogs. But, this time I can at least say I’ve done all the blog posts in this year’s blogmas. Even if most of the time I didn’t post some of the blog posts on the actual days they were supposed to go up haha.

I don’t want to keep you all from your family and friends, so I won’t wrote much more. But, if you want some ideas to include into your Christmas Eve, check out my Christmas Eve Essentials blog post from yesterday. Other than that, I hope you all have happy holiday’s.

My Christmas Eve Essentials (Blogmas Day 22)

Hi Friends!67

So with Christmas Eve coming up, I’m sure you are all busy trying to prepare for the holiday’s, so I decided to give you a less reading-heavy post. Something I find is quick to read, and that way you can move on with your prep for the holiday. This list below is some of the must-haves I need to make it an extra cozy Christmas Eve.

1. Warm socks (mine have little cats on them)

71

2. Candy Canes/Hot Chocolate/marshmallows (just because)

3. Desserts (my sister makes her infamous chocolate chip cookies)

4. Don’t forget your holiday scented candles

5. Your top picks for a Christmas Movie marathon72

6. Your family and furbabies by your side

~~~~~
These things combined make my Christmas Eve perfect and relaxing. My question of the day for you all:
What are your Christmas Eve necessities?
3 Lessons I’ve Learned During Finals Week (Blogmas Day 21)
Hi Friends!66
For today’s blogmas post, I was thinking about doing another college related post, as that is something that consumes most of my life these days. Well, before break that is. I will be returning back to college classes in a couple of weeks. For today’s topic, I was thinking about doing another lessons style post. Similar to the one I did for my 20th birthday(20 Lessons I’ve Learned In 20 Years). So without further rambling:
3 Lessons I’ve Learned During Finals Week
1. Do not wait until finals week to actually start studying
Take it from me, it is always better to start a week or so earlier than your actual finals. Even if it is just something simple like re-reading chapters or making flash cards. You want to be as prepared as possible going into your finals. Especially since it is not just one final, but multiple in a close period of time.
2. Take advantages of the school finals week events (stress relievers)
For example, at my campus they have activities like study-jam(a small little party to help the students relax a bit after a day of studying), midnight-breakfast(a breakfast event in the middle of the night to feed the students who have neglected to eat during cramming for their finals), or pet-a-dog(they bring rescue dogs to campus for the students to go pet for a while when they feel like they need to relax). These events are not necessarily huge, but they do the trick if you need to take a breather from all the studying you are doing.
3. But don’t forget to actually study
I know how easy it is to be like “Oh, I’ve studied for an entire hour, let me take a three-hour relaxation break”. It is always important to try to keep a balanced study system during finals week. Say for every two hours of studying, you get a thirty minute break. However, if you plan on getting a meal or showering, extend the break to an hour. That doesn’t mean that if you decide to eat a bag of popcorn that you’ve earned yourself a good hour-long break. Tip: Pre-make study snacks in the morning, so you’ll have them with you to eat while studying. That way you won’t be tempted to say you need an hour to eat a snack, and you can save those hour breaks for actual full meals or other human things.
These three lessons were one’s I had to learn quickly, and I have remembered these over my last four semesters of college. My question of the day for you all:
Which of these lessons do you practice?
Waiting Until Last Minute (Blogmas Day 20)
Hi Friends!65
I have a quick ramble for you all for today’s blog post. Enjoy!
I still have plenty of Christmas gifts left to buy for my friends and family, and it is only a few days until Christmas. I really think I have a procrastination problem. Okay, so that isn’t really news. I have been procrastinating my life away for several years now haha.
With having been working almost every day for the past few days it is kind of also the reason why I haven’t finished up my Christmas shopping. Of course I probably could have went and did the shopping before my work days, but there was something else in my way.
I actually plan to go out in a couple of days. Well I think I will. I know the traffic will be bad, and I’m sure I won’t be able to handle the stress that long. But, that seems to be the only time to do it with how busy my schedule has been. I honestly think that next year I need to just do all of my Christmas shopping on Black Friday. Better yet, I’ll do it all on Cyber Monday. That way it will be done early, and I don’t have to deal with people… I think I also need to work on my social skills a bit haha.
My question of the day for you all:
When do you do your Christmas/Holiday shopping?
Homemade Gift Tags
Personalize your gifts!
sophielaetitia
The last few years have turned into a bit of a tradition in terms of making my own Christmas gift tags! Me and my mum have been getting into the habit of saving last year’s Christmas cards and recycling them into something special! So, I carried on the tradition this year and made some from my 2015 cards!
It is so easy to do and you can create all kinds of different shapes and designs. If I have a really great card to work from I try to follow the design shape and cut around that. For example, my super cute snowman gift tag was created by using the snowman’s silhouette as a guide. I also use biscuit cutters to draw and cut out shapes of other cards which had a fairly neutral design. I love the gingerbread men and the stars especially this year!
Finally, I hole punch my…
TAP: Wrapping Up Gifts (Blogmas Day 19)
Hi Friends!64
I have spent all of yesterday catching up on blogmas, and I definitely feel the twitches of pain in my fingers from all that typing. But, I had fun. Most of the posts were already written, I just had to do some touch ups, and I also did a lot of tweeting yesterday.
Not only that, but I have had to work constantly, so I haven’t really had much time to get stuff done for newer blog posts. I decided for tonight’s blog post, it was just going to be a TAP(Taking A Page) style blog post, but more informal.
Before work this afternoon, I wrapped presents for my family. Well, not all of the one’s for my family. Some of them were in my sister’s room, and she said she’d wrap those. It actually took me a lot longer than usual. I think I wrapped four presents in about forty-five minutes. But that also might be due to the fact that I was getting distracted by life things every few minutes haha.
When I was wrapping, I found I was getting a touch of my OCD when it came to choosing what color wrapping paper went to who, and how smooth the edges were. I eventually had to just give up on some, and start on bagging a few other gifts. I think overall, I did a good job. But, who’s going to be judging my wrapping skills anyways?
It wasn’t much longer after I finished wrapping that I had to start getting ready for work. One thing I definitely was not looking forward to. But, the good news is that today in-between all my activities I started brainstorming some fun projects for 2017. I can’t wait to start fully developing them.
~~~~~

With only a few days left until Christmas, I think I’m slacking on getting all my gifts together. My question of the day for you all:

What is your strategy to wrap gifts?

College: When The Grades Come Rolling In (Blogmas Day 18)

Hi friends!62

So after a long day of catching up on my blog posts that I missed over the past few days, I finally decided on today’s blog post. I don’t really plan for it to be all that long, just because I feel like I’ve posted so much content today my head my explode.

I just recently finished up my fifth semester of college, and I am relieved that it is finally over. You would think after the last two years of experience, this fifth semester would be a piece of cake. Not even close. I spent most of the semester constantly worried over every single assignment, quiz, test, speech, or essay. I felt as if I would make a wrong move, and my entire GPA would drop to zero in one night.

Somehow through all that worry and stress, I actually ended the semester fairly confident. I got all A’s. Getting straight A’s hasn’t happened to me in quite sometime. In my past semesters of college there was always one or two classes that would give me a run for my money. Whether it be a class that challenged me or one that I just didn’t care to put effort into. But this semester was different. I knew I needed to keep good grades, as all these classes are key to my major. I’ve never felt more relieved with the turnout after all this hard work.

~~~~~
After all the hard work and stress, I am so incredibly pleased with my grades. Unlike past semesters I was actually excited for the grades to come rolling in. My question of the day for you all:
How do you handle being stressed about final grades?
Q&A ~ Christmas Things (Part 2)(Blogmas Day 17)
Hi friends!61
I decided to do a second Q&A Christmas Things post because it is much closer to Christmas time now, and I am feeling all the holiday feels. I am super excited to get started, and I will try to make this not as reading heavy as the last one. But you never know what will happen haha.
What holiday tradition are you looking forward to most this year? Blankets. I know you probably think that is strange, but it’s probably my favorite thing all year. Every Christmas I get a new blanket. I love soft and cozy things, and that always is such a nice thing to have on a cold Christamas Day.
What is your all-time favorite holiday food/dessert? Cinnamon pull-apart bread. My sister makes it each year, and it is always the best thing. It’s cinnamon rolls without the glaze, but the flavor is still there. Oh, and it’s in bread form.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season? Well I would have to say Tennessee. I feel like I would love to be in the mountains in a cabin for the holiday’s. This might also be because my favorite Christmas movie is Holiday In Handcuffs, and they had there Christmas at a cabin in the woods.
What makes the Holidays special for you? I think, not to be cheesy, but spending time with my family. My sister lives mostly in Alabama now to go to school, and between my schedule and my parents we don’t always get to see each other for that long each day. I feel like around the Holiday’s we’re all in the house, and able to watch Christmas movies and make roasted pecans to enjoytogether as a family. That’s just something I always look forward to.
~~~~~

My part 2 to my Christmas Things Q&A. I don’t believe I’ll be doing another one of these this blogmas, but maybe next year. My question of the day for you all:

What makes the Holiday’s special for you?
