Hi Friends!23

Over the weekend I went out to do some life things, which included getting my mother’s car oil changed, going shopping, and most importantly eating Buffalo Wild Wings. One of my most favorite places to go out to eat at. I’m sure some people don’t think that is all that exciting, but I find looking to small events in life as adventures make life a whole lot more fun.

After stopping by and grabbing some new lipstick from Ulta(NYX Lingerie is my new obsession), we walked right into Forever 21. My happy place, and the place where I found the inspiration for this blog post. Babe.

Every time I walk into Forever 21, I want to buy everything. I can’t say that I have ever walked into a Forever 21, and have not wanted to buy the entire store. There may have been one time a few years ago where I said I didn’t want anything, but I guarantee that is probably just because I was broke and probably still in high school.

This time when I walked in, I was greeted with a whole bunch of colorful shirts that attracted my eye. If you know me personally, you know that my normal daily attire is in the color range of light gray to the darkest shade of black. My wardrobe could definitely use some new colorful pieces. So, with that in mind, I settled on this multi-colored taco shirt, because I love tacos and it fits in with my whole colorful idea. Before I could so much as walk towards the register this pink babe shirt caught my eye. For some reason, it spoke to me on a whole different level than the taco shirt did. Without hesitation, I put the taco shirt back and got myself the pink babe shirt.

Babe 💜😘💋

I feel like “babe” is one of those terms that some people either really love it or really hate it. Or that minor section of people who don’t have a preference. I personally like to use it, and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I feel like the reason why I like it is that it’s not just useful in a relationship. I have called everyone babe for years. Many of my friends, sometimes the occasional stranger, and I have used it in relationships before.

In this case of buying my new shirt, I bought the shirt because I liked the bright color, and the wording on it was something that I could relate to. I think those of us who have shopped at Forever 21 know how it the wording on their shirts can sometimes ruin a buy. I remember one time I was so in love with a shirt design I saw on their site, and then I went to pick it up in person and it had a cheesy long saying on the back. Now sometimes those sayings can be cute or stylish, but I feel like Forever 21 often crosses the line to annoying and cheesy.

Lucky for me, I found my colorful shirt and even appreciated the wording on it. I would say my weekend goals were accomplished. How was your weekend?

How To Cheer Someone Up!

Hi Friends!16

So a few weekends ago my mom and I took a spur of the moment road trip to Alabama to surprise my sister, as she had a rough time during finals. The key word being surprise. We drove over an hour to get from home in Georgia to my sister’s college completely unsure as to if she was even going to be there when we showed up.

On our drive over, we decided to stop by her work first, and she ended up not being there. So we started driving to her apartment, and we actually ended up passing her as she was on her way to work. She didn’t see us, so we came up with this master plan to get her roommate to let us in, and we’d decorate her room. After getting a whole bunch of decorations and some Dunkin Donuts. We went to her apartment and got to decorating.

Mind you, we had gone to Dollar Tree to get the decorations. So it was all pretty cheap, but it would get the job done. We ended up choosing a beach theme. Only because it was either that, graduation theme, or plain boring decorations. We got balloons, streamers, strings, and more.

she has no clue

After decorating her room with everything we had bought, we got back in the car and drove all the way back to her work. Which, at this point, a few hours had gone by, so she was able to go on break and eat with us. We convinced her we had driven all the way to Alabama just to eat lunch with her, and she had no clue we had been at her apartment. It wasn’t until almost one in the morning(midnight for her because of the time difference) that she finally snapchatted and texted us her surprise when it came to the decorations.

I feel like just seeing her smile, not only when she showed us her reaction to her room, but when we came up to visit, it meant something. It was nice to see her cheered up and happy. I understand what it feels like when grades don’t go the way you want it to, and I hope that we helped her feel just a little bit better. Nothing feels better than being able to help cheer someone up when they are down.

Monday Motivation: 6 Miles a Day?!

Hi Friends!22

I have recently been on a health and fitness kick, and I haven’t screwed it up yet. I’ve been going at this for nearly two weeks now. For once I feel like I finally hit a routine that I can stick with, and actually, want to do each and every day. Last week I even hit 6 miles just because I didn’t feel like getting off the treadmill. To be honest, I should probably pace myself to avoid over exhausting myself. But, when you actually enjoy working out, it is kind of hard to say stop. All I have to say is that I hope this keeps on going. I feel amazing with my life choices right now.

My Thoughts on the Grey’s Anatomy Season Finale

Hi Friends!

photo from creative commons

As you can already tell from the title of this blog post, I’m going to be talking about Grey’s Anatomy. I originally was not planning on doing this post, as I feel like I have done a handful of TV review posts lately. However, I feel like this post isn’t going to be a review, so much as talking about my favorite/not-so-favorite parts of the finale. I do want to go ahead and disclaim that if you haven’t watched this episode yet, you definitely want to wait until after you do! SPOILERS AHEAD!

~~~~~     ~~~~~     ~~~~~
First off, I really was cautious going into the season finale. After all of the other Shonda Rhimes season finales, I felt like someone was either going to die, or someone was going to leave. Sure enough one of those came true, but twice! For the first time in a few years, this finale was not a disappointment either. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Unsure of what was going to happen to Edwards or the little girl. I do have to say when Edwards went down the stairs to get her ID card with the smoke filling up the stairwell had me completely convinced that Edwards was going to die. I actually kind of switched off between Edwards and the little girl on who was going to die several times throughout the entire episode. I’m going to be really sad to see Edwards leave the show, but I feel like she went out strong. The heart-to-heart she had with Webber gave me all the feels and reminded me that Webber really has a way of touching each person he has taught over the years.
Meanwhile, the whole thing with Meridith trying to find Nathan to tell him that his fiancee was still alive was kind of put on the back burner. Which oddly enough I was okay with because I felt like the episode was meant to surround what was happening with Edwards and the little girl. I thought it was interesting how calm and understanding Meredith was when she realized what this would mean with her relationship with Nathan. I really admired her character for the way she handled it. I am also happy to see that Amelia is with Owen during all of this, and I really just want Owen to find happiness after everything he has been through. I can’t wait to see what next season brings his character.
There were two problems that I had. One being the whole Minnick situation. We spent the first half of the season hating her guts, then we finally got to a point where we were okay with her being there. Then all of a sudden at the end of the season the problem just sparks fire(pun intended), and she’s fired. It seemed to be a bit of an overkill, but I did like that Bailey finally stood up for Richard. I was only slightly disappointed with Minnick leaving, and that is because I want Arizona to find happiness.
The second thing is the whole Maggie and Jackson deal. I called that a while back, but honestly I really just think they’d be good friends more than in a relationship. Maybe that’s the side of me that really thinks Japril might make a comeback, but there is also a part of me that has been annoyed with April when all the Minnick stuff was going down. The thing is, I really was surprised when April told Maggie that she should talk to Jackson. I just was taken off-guard by how April was just like yeah go do it, then just goes off to do her job. I was thinking she would be less willing to let Jackson go.
Overall, I am very pleased with the episode. I haven’t felt so happy with a season finale for Grey’s in a while. I am glad it wasn’t really left on a cliffhanger because that always makes it hard to wait for the break until the next season. The one question I have for you all is: What do you think will happen with Alex and Jo? We only got a brief mention from Alex that he ended up not doing anything to her husband. Do you think they’ll get back together? Or go their separate ways?
I Can Breathe Again
Hi Friends!15
I feel like it has been quite a while since the last time I sat down to write a blog post. Well, I mean one that didn’t revolve around my school work at least. The last few weeks have been spent with me trying to make it through finals without failing any classes or ripping out my hair.
My goal was to try and not let this blog suffer while I was so busy with school, but unfortunately, that is not how I roll when I get overly stressed. Good thing is that the semester is finally over. I passed all my classes with all As except for one B. I found out that one of my papers that I turned in got a 97 which always makes a writer feel good. I also discovered that I have an extreme obsession with maple donuts from Dunkin Donuts. But it’s fine.
My First Ever Maple Donut
All in all, I am extremely proud of myself for surviving another semester in college. This semester brought on so many changes in my life as well. Some good and some not so good. With each day that has gone by, I feel like I have grown as a person in many ways. I am happy where I am now. That’s the goal, right? To be happy. To choose happy.
The point is that I can finally take in a fresh breath of air now that finals are over with. My focus now can go to my writing and make the best of the Summer.
